A practical Selection guide note for fuel projects: selection criteria, deployment checks and the data path into your business systems.

Start with the field problem

In fuel operations, the right device is defined by the site, not the datasheet. Start with the events you must detect, the people who respond, and the time window for action.

Selection criteria

Prioritise protection rating, power, connectivity and integration over feature count. Validate the device in the hardest installation point, not the easiest one.

  • Confirm coverage and power at the actual installation point.
  • Test alerts and data accuracy for at least 72 hours.
  • Check the API and data model before committing to volume.

Deployment

Document the installation point, device ID and owner. A repeatable commissioning checklist is more valuable than a larger feature list.

  1. Site survey
  2. Mount and connect
  3. Activate and bind
  4. Validate alerts
  5. Integrate with the business system

Data into decisions

Define one primary KPI and one owner. Start with a small pilot, review the false-alarm rate, then expand to the next site.
